Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of Charon (“Charon – Socials Manager”), the desktop app and its optional engine, made by Jiimbones in New Zealand (“we”, “us”). By using Charon you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Charon is in development

Charon is early software, used privately while it's being built. Features may change or stop working, and posts can fail. Check that anything important went out as you expected.

Your accounts and content

• Charon posts to your own accounts with keys and logins you provide. Keep them safe, and remove them from Charon if you think they've been exposed.
• You're responsible for what you post through Charon, including captions it suggests that you choose to use. Read them before they go out.
• You keep all rights to your content. We don't claim any ownership of it.

Other platforms' rules

When Charon posts for you, you must follow each platform's own terms and community rules, as well as the terms of the services Charon connects to, including Buffer, Cloudflare, Anthropic, Bluesky, Discord and Twitch.

Charon uses YouTube API Services. By using Charon's YouTube features you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies. Where Charon connects to Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, their terms apply too.

Acceptable use

Don't use Charon to:

• post spam, or content that's unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or breaks a platform's rules;
• post to accounts you don't own or aren't authorised to manage;
• overload, probe or interfere with Charon's engine or the services it connects to.

We may stop the engine accepting posts from anyone who does.

Privacy

How Charon handles your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty

Charon is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every post will go out on time. Platforms can change or refuse what Charon sends at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost posts, reach, followers, income or data, arising from your use of Charon. If you use Charon for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 doesn't apply. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using Charon at any time, and delete your data as described on the Data deletion page. We may change or discontinue Charon or the engine; if we shut the engine down, we'll give notice in Charon first where we can, so scheduled posts can be moved.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. Using Charon after a change means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
