Deleting your data

Charon keeps most of your data on your own computer, so you can delete it yourself at any time. Here's how to remove all of it. You can do any of these steps on their own.

1. Delete what Charon's engine holds

If you connected Charon's engine (to post while your PC is off):

1. Open Charon and go to Settings → Connections → Charon engine.
2. Press Delete my data from the engine and confirm.

This immediately deletes your Bluesky and Discord logins, your scheduled and past posts, their history and their video files from the engine. (Cancel or wait for any posts still waiting to go out first; Charon will say if there are any.)

2. Delete what's on your computer

1. In Charon, remove any keys you no longer want stored, under Settings → Connections and Settings → Discord.
2. Quit Charon from its tray icon, then uninstall it.
3. Delete Charon's folder: press Windows + R, enter %APPDATA%\Charon, and delete that folder.

That removes your drafts, edits, captions, post history, statistics, settings and stored keys.

3. Remove Charon's access to your accounts

• Google / YouTube: myaccount.google.com/connections → Charon → Delete all connections.
• Facebook and Instagram: Settings → Apps and websites (Facebook), or Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites (Instagram) → Charon → Remove.
• TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services → Charon → Remove access.
• Twitch: Settings → Connections → Charon → Disconnect.
• Bluesky: Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords → delete the one you made for Charon.
• Discord: in the channel's settings → Integrations → Webhooks, delete Charon's webhook.
• Buffer, Cloudflare and Anthropic: delete the API keys you created for Charon in each service's settings.

Posts that Charon published stay on each platform until you delete them there, like anything else you post. Data held by those services is covered by their own policies.
